Major Kuranda tourism operators held a trivia night at the Central Hotel on Friday night to thank Douglas-based agents.

About 60 people turned out for the superhero-themed trivia night, which was hosted by Reef and Rainforest connections and assisted by Skyrail, Kuranda Birdworld, Kuranda Koala Sanctuary and Kuranda Scenic railway.

The trivia competition covered several subjects including Kuranda itself, with physical challenges like a balloon-inflating race and a bizarre pass-the-cucumber-and-orange game providing spice to the night.

Tourism Kuranda executive officer Marc Sleeman acted as MC for the night and said it was the Kuranda businesses’ way of thanking their Port Douglas agents.

“This is actually one of if not the biggest tourism agent events in Port Douglas,” Mr Sleeman said.

“A lot of tourism business is referred up to Kuranda from the coast by the hard work of these agents and this night is basically the way for the tourism operators up in

Kuranda to say thank you.”

Team TBA were the eventual come-from-behind winners of the competition.
