There was fast and furious action at Douglas Netball Association on Tuesday.

Douglas Junior Netball started on court 1 with the Young Comets playing Pink Lightning.

Lightening started strongly in the goal circle but were quickly matched in the second quarter by the Comets, however persistence won the day with Lightening taking the game 8-4.

Best players were Saskia Booth, Evie Cotton & Mercedes Ramsey.  

Court 2 had the Young Stars play the Little Saints, the Saints may be the younger side but played some excellent netball making the Stars work hard to score goals, final score the Stars 4-nil with best players Sofia Cullen, Jade Shearer, Layla Kerswell and Ruby Woods.  

The Young Gems played Fast Motion in a defensive contest with plenty of intercepts, the Gems shot well for goal taking the game 8-2 with best players Jaslyn Chesterfield, Michaelyn Parkes, Edie Thurtell & Sophie Kirk.

The Pythons played the Young Sapphires on court 2 in a closely contested game which saw them 5 all at half time, the Pythons managed to come away by a goal at the final siren winning 11-10 with best players Georgia McCarthy, Taliesha Carswell & Jenna Kerswell.

The Intermediate competition played the 12/Under rep team against the SuperHeroes, the Heroes took control from the first siren, the Reps had plenty of pace through the centre but couldn't get the goals in to score, the Heroes took the game 29-2 with best players Nanook Aston-Boyle, Hannah Durie & Taylor Jeffs.

On Court 1 Young Guns 1 played Young Guns 2 in a competitive game with plenty of intercepts by both teams, Guns 2 despite a fantastic effort couldn't get the goals allowing Guns 1 to take the game 27-5 with best players Maddie Santarossa, Samaria Denman & Faith Kempster.

The Senior competition started with Rattle n Hum 2 playing Young Guns 1 in a fast paced competitive match up with plenty of intercepts, the Guns persisted to take the game 33-21 with best & fairest named Camara Osborne.

Port Power played Crocs 2, Port Power were on the ball from the first siren and continued for 4 quarters, the Crocs despite a great team effort the Power's defence made it difficult to score, final score 21-9 with best & fairest Anna Sneddon.

The RingIns played an undermanned Gunnars team, the RingIns took control from he beginning and despite a great 2nd quarter from the Gunnars took the game 24-12 with best & fairest Jodie Davies.   Bluebirds and Spot On will play at a later date.

Division 1 played the Jets against Crocs 1, the Jets started strongly with some great team play down the court, Crocs 1 steadied and with some great feeds into the circle took the game 24-20 with best & fairest named Lisa Brown.

Dynamite played the Cougars, Dynamite showed great strength and resilience against the high pressure from the Cougars who were relentless for 4 quarters.

Final score Cougars 31-22 with best & fairest Nichelle Pitt.       

This was the last round for the Juniors and Division 1 Seniors who are breaking for school holidays, the fixture will resume on the 15th July.  NEXT WEEK ONLY DIVISION 2 WILL PLAY AT PORT COURTS, and the Bluebirds and Spot On will need to schedule their make up game. For those teams not playing next week we hope you have a great break and look forward to all teams resuming play refreshed on the 15th July.
