Beware a Crocodile who's been called an easybeat!

The Port Douglas Crocs staged a ferocious all-team effort at Holloways Beach on Saturday to prove to their supporters that they are focussed on the big picture.

This is of course their determination to be a compelling force come finals time this year.

 To their credit, for more than half the match, the Cairns City Lions refused to be steam-rolled.

They were fast, elusive and exciting to watch.

It was nip and tuck until the dam burst.  But from the long break until the final siren it was all Crocs.  

First gamer Antony Sercombe, Darren Garth and Jimmy Mueller started hauling in sky-scraper marks; the "cellar dwellers" - blokes like Rowan "Zinger" Hanley, Daniel "Turtle" Cross, Sam Scally and Dylan Wearmouth dominated the in and under hard ball gets and forced the ball forward with sheer guts and grit.  

 The Crocs defenders got on top and players such as Michael Klein-Boonschate, Zak Stephenson and Kaine Freyling were able to run off their opponents and provide linking hand passes and kicks which created a rolling thunder.

Quick runners in Alex Bendle, Thomas Clough, Josh Lea, Dylan Prater and Ash Davidson pumped the footy into the Croc's forward line to ensure that their team mates could grab every opportunity to gain possession.

Antony Sercombe with 8 goals, Zak Stephenson with 4 and Darren Garth with 3, reaped the benefits.  

It was a brilliantly sustained commitment and an excellent coaching performance from Brad Cooper who was still urging his charges to give it everything they had when there were only minutes left on the clock.  

The Reserves match was played in a similar vein to the Senior game.  Both teams showed that fierce will to win which makes for a dynamic spectacle.

 For the first three quarters the final outcome was always in doubt, but coach Lynton Heffer effected some changes which altered the complexion of the game and enabled the Crocs to boot 5 goals to 1 in the last quarter and take away the four points.  

 Ethan McCullough and Pat Molan dominated the ruck duals; Harlen Paulet, Jack Lowe, Dylan Peirce, Liam Edwards and Jordan Corbett all got on top of their opponents and forced the ball forward.

Scott McKay at full-forward was having the day out that you dream about and finished with 6 goals.  Andrew MacLeod, John Dalton, Hayden Bogicevic, Nathan Evans and Tim Thomson all won their positions well.

It was great to see the father/son combination of Glenn and Jack Dickson on the park together.

 Everyone needs a laugh.

And laughter is guaranteed next Saturday night, 21st June, when the club stages one of its absolute social gems.

Yes! Its CROCS IN FROCKS night again!

The only chance for the year where you'll see brawny, fit footballers dressing as demure, sensitive singing and dancing young ladies.

This is a must-see event!  Come to the game and stay for the 7pm start of the hi jinx! 

Next match is at home at the Croc Pit on 21st June.  Port Douglas will play host to Centrals Trinity Beach.  Reserves 1pm.  Seniors 3pm.
