Raiders return to form against Brothers

Friday July 11 2014, 3:40pm

What a difference a week makes as the Raiders turned up to play last weekend scoring a bonus point victory against third placed brothers. Tom Branch playing his first senior game for the Raiders and his first with his old man Shane  was tremendous defensively and over the ball collecting the well deserved three points for best on field. The four try to two victory keeps us in second spot and gives us a 10 point lead over the third placed team. Another home game victory this weekend against Penryhn would almost guarantee second spot going into the finals so make sure you come down and support  the boys 3.30 Saturday.

THIS WEEKEND:

We meet the new club Penryn at home. Again we have some committee members unable to make the game, so please see Don and help out where you can.

JUNIOR NEWS:

Lachy Buzza is home from the State Championships – a very tired boy. Played well under injury and is looking forward to the junior season in a few months – see his profile in todays Gazette

COACHING COURSE:

Free – Sunday 20th July at Barlow Park 8.30am to 4.30pm – Foundations Coaching (or Referee) course. Please contact Denise on 0427 982254 if you are interested in helping out the juniors this season or if you would just like to learn some more about Rugby.

LADIES DAY(S):

We have 2 exciting events coming up over the next few weeks.

JCU are hosting a Ladies Day on August 2nd at their home grounds at Smithfield. Raiders will be running a large coach down so our Raidettes can join in the fun.

Raiders will be hosing our own Ladies Day at our last home game Saturday 9th August. Mark your diaries ladies and tell all your friends to join us on the deck with a few champagnes while watching the boys against Innisfail.
