The 10/Under Young Comets played Pink Lightening last Tuesday at Port Courts, Pink Lightening played a strongly contested game keeping possession of the ball for 4 quarters and giving the shooters plenty of shots for goal, Lightening took the game 8 nil with best players Lani Dickson and Saskia.
On court 2 the Young Stars played the Little Saints in a close contest creating some great plays, the Stars were too strong on the day taking the game 2 nil with best players Piper Ottone and Sofia Cullen.
The 12/Under competition played the Young Gems against the Young Sapphires, the Sapphires started strongly scoring 6 goals to nil in the first quarter, with a few position changes the Gems fought back over the next 2 quarters but couldn't catch the Sapphires who won 14-7 with best players Ebony Bland, Sophie Kirk, Charlotte Kilpatrick and Casey Baxter.
The Fast Motion and the Pythons game was a forfeit.
The Intermediate division played Young Guns 1 against the 12/Under Rep Team, the Reps have developed into a great little team creating some very nice lines of play over the court, timing their drives to the ball made the Young Guns work for their win 43-1 with best players Tiah McLean, Ebony Bland and Jenna Kerswell.
Young Guns 2 played the SuperHeroes, Guns 2 rallied well for a team who have lost 2 older players this term, the SuperHeroes were dominant across the court and came away with the game 12-9 with best players Faith Kempster, Piper Adams and Leah Nash.
The Senior competition division 2 at 6.15 played the RingIns against Spot On in a well spirited and friendly match, the RingIns were too good on the night taking the game 49-22 with the best & fairest named Daisy Hawkes.
Young Guns 1 played Crocs 2 in a thriller, Crocs 2 kept ahead for 3 quarters in a tight and entertaining contest, the Guns stepped up in the last quarter shooting 12 goals to 5 taking the game 33-29 with best & fairest named Anna Sneddon.
The Bluebirds played Rattle n Hum 2 in another close contest, the Bluebirds shot well in the 2nd and last quarter and came away with the points, final score 42-32 with best & fairest named Rosie Peel.
The Gunnars forfeited to Port Power.
In Division 1 the Jets played the Cougars, the experience of the Cougars and their fantastic defence kept the Jets from getting the goals, final score 45-26 to the Cougars with best & fairest named Casandra Cairns.
Dynamite played Rattle n Hum 1 on court 1, Dynamite lead in the first quarter with Rattle fighting back in the next to even the score, with 1 goal in it at the last quarter the experience of Rattle earned them the 3 points 35-31 with best & fairest Rhiannon Schreiber.
This weekend DNA will travel to Innisfail for the Marlin Coast netball carnival there will be 5 teams competing over the weekend from Seniors to 10/Under, play well girls and lets hope we can bring home a trophy for Douglas!
