Community pays tribute to fire victim

The Douglas community has shown its sympathy for the victim of a fatal house fire on St Crispin's Avenue on Saturday. 

Bunches of flowers have appeared on the house's fence but it currently unknown exactly who placed them there.

Meanwhile the police investigation into the fire continues, with no official details of the victim available yet. 

Investigators are using dental and DNA evidence to determine the person's identity.

Police are still investigating a house fire that claimed the life of one person on Saturday night. 

Emergency services responded to the house on St Crispins' Avenue at about 10:30pm Saturday after neighbours heard fire alarms sounding inside the property. 

A search of the house uncovered human remains, which are still yet to be identified. 

Mossman CIB will continue investigations into the cause of the fire and the fatality.
