Car gutted by blaze on Port Douglas Road

Douglas police are investigating after responding to a car on fire on Port Douglas Road this morning.

Residents reported the burning car near the Port Douglas Road - Barrier Street roundabout at about 5:15am this morning. 

Firefighters from the Douglas Queensland Fire and Rescue Station responded immediately and extinguished the blaze. 

Police arrived at about 5:30am. 

The car is a Hyundai Excel sedan and appears to have been stolen from near Casurina Court on Davidson Street, just under four kilometres away.

No-one is believed to have been harmed in the incident.
