Search on for new TPDD boss
The top job at Tourism Port Douglas Daintree is up for grabs after current Executive Officer Doug Ryan announced he will not seek a new term when his existing contract expires on June 30.
Mr Ryan’s departure is the latest leadership shuffle for the Douglas Shire, following the commencement of the new Council on January 1 and appointment of Roy Weavers as Carnivale 2014 General Manager in November last year.
The open TPDD position, along with the region's tourism resurgence of about 2.19 million room nights last year, adds to the ripe opportunity to reimagine and transform the local industry.
Applications for the position will be advertised shortly and are expected to close late February.
The successful applicant is expected to start by the end of April to allow a reasonable handover period and just before ATE.
