iPad competition a snap for Deborah
Newsport’s ‘Whenever, Wherever You Are’ competition is heating up, with Deborah O’Donoghue’s mixed media creation the latest entry in the running to win an iPad Mini.
“Most of the stuff I had at home,” she said of her ‘TheNewsport.com.au’ collage.
“The white writing is Wite-Out correction tape on a piece of river drift wood; I think it looks really good and weathered-looking. I collected the material to make the letters P,R,T, the ‘au’, and flowers from Newell beach.”
The competition asks snappers to submit images displaying ‘TheNewsport.com.au’ and capturing the brand’s ethos of ‘Whenever, Wherever You Are’'. There’s no limit to the number of entrants per person.
Deborah, a Newsport user for about a year, is a regular Best Photo entrant and currently has three shots vying for the prize.
“I have other places I would like to set up and take some photos, if I get around to it I will enter another one,” she said.
“I think it is great to have access to The Newsport; it lets the locals now what's going on, what's happening, and what has happened.”
Newsport Media’s Managing Director, Sam Cullen, said he was impressed with the ingenuity and variety of locations captured in the entries so far. He listed Deborah’s beach collage entry and Kreesta Vesga’s underwater snap as particular standouts.
“We’ve had entries from the Big Day Out festival in New Zealand, scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef, with pets in South Australia, and out and about in the Douglas Shire. It will be a tough decision for the judges when the competition closes in April!”
From next Friday, January 31, judges will award a novelty prize to the most creative photo submitted each week until the competition's closing date on April 1.
