High tides hit Douglas

The effects of the season's first tropical cyclone, due to make landfall tomorrow morning, are being felt around Douglas.

As Newsport users continue to send in photos of local wild weather, including Port Douglas resident Jess Coleman's snaps, forecasters are predicting a category 1 cyclone, named Dylan, will make landfall between Lucinda and Proserpine.

A cyclone warning from Port Douglas to Cairns was cancelled yesterday, as the cyclone moves west-south-west of Townsville.
