Mossman golf club wrap

The weather cleared to allow competition play during last week, and as a result another Mossman member has achieved a hole-in-one. 

On Tuesday 18th February, Maurice Meth eagled the 8th hole a challenging 123 metre par 3 protected on both sides by bunkers.

The February Monthly Medal sponsored by The Pavilions Port Douglas, was won by Jimmy Serave with nett 71 on a count-back to Maurice Meth and in 3rd place Peter Clark 72.
NTP’s -  Ian Prewitt, Maurice Meth (ace), Peter Nielson, Bernie Boon & Mal McKellar.

Wednesday 9 hole sporters event was won by Ron Smith with 18 points.

Thursday’s Ladies Par event was won by Pris Freeman with -1 ahead of Leonie Phillips -2 and Virginia Goodall -3 on a count-back to Tracey Benham.
NTP’s – Patti Graham on 6 & 10, Virginia Goodall on 8, and Julie Hooker on 13.

On Friday Brendan Wood won the 9 hole event with 19 points.

the Stableford event was won by Wade Duncan with 37 points on a count-back to Bill Everingham and Kale Warden on February 15.

Steve Gray won the Stableford Medley with 32 points on a count-back to John Zieglar. John Zieglar won the NTP.

The weekend events for February 22, 23 were washed out due to poor weather.

The Ladies event was won by Leonie Phillips with 37 points ahead of Tricia Landy 34 and Tracey Benahm 33.

Mossman Golf Club’s "Introduction to golf for Ladies" program is held on Mondays at 4pm.  Details from Julie Hooker 0413 394 111.

We are pleased to report that Bill Everingham achieved the ultimate goal in golf when he  eagled the longest par 3, 173 metre hole number 17.  This achievement was on Sunday 17th June 2012, and the hole-in-one was missed from our report at the time.
