Join the Douglas Heat Basketball Club!

2013 proved to be a successful start to the brand new Douglas Heat Basketball Club for juniors, with weekly sessions at the new Port Douglas cyclone shelter attracting more than 50 kids.

Coaching clinics were also held by the NBL's Cairns Taipans and Melbourne Tigers, Cairns Dolphins ladies state team and the Bendigo Braves SEABL side, which taught players fundamental skills and game rules.

Sign on days for 2014 for boys and girls aged 11-14 years start tomorrow:

• Wednesday, February 5 from 4pm
• Wednesday, February 12 from 4pm

Sign on days for boys and girls aged 6-10 years:

• Saturday, February 8 from 9am
• Saturday, February 15 from 9am

The new 6-10yrs program will be a version of the National ‘Oz Hoops’ program, which is designed for kids to have a fun entry to the sport. Included in the OzHoops fees are a ball, drink bottle and bag.

2014 season fees - $200 per child for 11-14s and $180 for Oz Hoops 6-10s for the year. There will be breaks for the school holidays, with the season ending late November. Annual fees for both divisions can be paid in two installments.
