New cider to launch at Douglas Business Awards

Friday December 5 2014, 2:50pm

Attendees at tonight’s Douglas Business Awards will be the first in Australia to taste a new luxury pear cider from New South Wales.

‘dCider’, a premium cider company based in Batlow on the Southern Highlands, will be launching a new flavour of its pear cider at the Business Awards’ Gala Awards Night at Sheraton Port Douglas tonight.

The company is planning on donating enough of the cider to have a bottle available on every table for the night, which will be attended by nearly 250 people.

Barossa Valley-based botique wine distributors Matt and Deb Poole, who operate under the name Wine Divas, are providing refreshment for the night and said dCider sought them out specifically to launch the new flavour at the awards night.

Deb Poole said attendees at the night would surely appreciate the new flavour.

“It’s a very true flavour,” Ms Poole said.

“You can tell that it’s hand-made in smaller batches like all dCider ciders, it has a very full flavour.”

Wine Divas will also be supplying other premium dCider cider flavours all through the night, including the company’s signature apple cider.
