With over 30,000 votes 300 hundred business nominated we look behind the scenes a little at this years Douglas Business Awards.

With 30 guests begged to attend the 2010 inaugural evening upstairs in the old Newsport Offices at the Reef Marina it goes along way to say the the night over the years has picked up a little momentum.

Mainly due to a distinct determination the Douglas business community has in striving to deliver world class business, trade and tourism services in what they would consider to be the best place in the world to live.

The Douglas Business Awards have all the trimming of big city gala awards evening with red carpet arrivals, penguin suits, the latest spectacular fashion, paparazzi flashes, flowing champagne, amazing table settings, giant presentation screens, orchestral soundtracks and dazzling light shows, but do the people have fun?

We sent in the Newport Daily team to investigate. Well it looks like it in the photos!

Newsport.com's all rounders Rosie Wang and Boyd Robertson give an photographic insight behind the glitz and glamour of the gala evening. Even sneaking into the infamous DBA after party in Skase's very own party room, the Sheraton Mirage Daintree Lounge where almost 100 of the winners circle and party goers kicked into the wee hours of the morning.
