Best Dressed 2014 Awards

Best dressed for 2014

Sunday December 21 2014, 11:00am

In true Hollywood style the red carpet was rolled out at the 2014 Business Awards to welcome the well-dressed and the well-heeled.

Akin to the Oscar’s Hollywood night, guests arrived and glided over the red carpet in all their pomp and finery, their silks, gowns, heels and bow ties.  The Awards night is the one night of the year when the locals can scrub up and put on their evening finery and look and feel like movie stars.

For an event in the furthest corner of Far North Queensland it was obvious that style and glamour was not the just for the proclivity of the fashionistas in Sydney, Melbourne, Paris London or Hollywood.

The Business Awards is a celebration of the hard work, commitment and excellence shown by local businesses in excelling in their chosen trades.

For all the diversity of the businesses everyone looked a million dollars as they gathered under one roof to applaud the achievements of fellow business owners and in some cases, even applauding in good spirit when competitors won!

As is the tradition at these Awards there is a prize awarded for Best Dressed.  The prize is two night’s accommodation kindly donated by the Sheraton Mirage Resort Port Douglas.

It was after much head- scratching and deliberating that the judges have now pleasure in announcing Sandra Rendwick as the winner.  With so many stunning gowns and glamorous attendees making a choice was nigh on impossible.

The judges chose Sandra as they felt that her creation flattered, flaunted and flamboyantly added that tropical Port Douglas style twist.
Andrew, her husband, complemented Sandra’s theme with his vibrant and stylish shirt and tie.

The Awards are a cause for celebrating the beauty, colour and vibrancy of our region and the fashion choices of Andrew and Sandra just echoed this.
As can be seen by the social photos, everyone was a winner in the fashion stakes – what a good looking town Port Douglas is!

Apologies if you were not caught on camera on arrival. Selection is made on the night and via photo's on the red carpet.

The judges added that this year overall was the best dressed yet!
