Year 12 Study of Society students from Mossman State High School attended a local and state politics workshop at the Douglas Shire Chambers with Mayor Julia Leu, Member for Cook, David Kempton and Australian Electoral Officer, Mr David Stewart.

Teacher Elliot Davidson organised the workshops and the students throughly enjoyed the introduction to politics ans the insights the guest speakers passed onto his students.

The speakers covered a wide range of subjects to illustrate the political system and the processes involved in the various levels of Australian politics.

Mr Davidson and the speakers were delighted with the reaction from the students.

All agreed that getting students to understand the process of politics was a constructive route to making politics work for the community.
