AHL raises funds for Paws and Claws at Moonlight Cinema

On Monday August 4th AHL employees from Queensland’s Far North rallied to raise money for a good cause.

Staff at Moonlight Cinema and QT Port Douglas welcomed their colleagues from Rydges Plaza, Esplanade, and Tradewinds in Cairns, as well as Event Cinema staff from Cairns Central, City and Earlville to Port Douglas for an evening of food, drink, film and fundraising.

Showing excellent commitment to the cause, Cairns-based employees travelled the hour long drive by coach to join their Port Douglas colleagues for a private pre-release screening of ‘Begin Again’, starring Keira Knightly and Mark Ruffalo. Entry to the screening was a gold coin donation to the Children’s Hospitals Foundation Australia, plus a can of pet food for local Port Douglas animal shelter Paws and Claws. The crowd enjoyed complimentary sausage sizzles and hot chips, choc tops, beer and wine as they basked in the silver-screen glow and enjoyed a balmy evening under the stars.

Congratulations and a huge thank you to all staff who participated in the event. In total $285 was raised for the Children’s Hospitals Foundation Australia, and over 50kgs of pet food was collected for Paws and Claws.
