The Newsport Daily received 19 submissions this month.

Judge, Sam Cullen said he was impressed with some of the nature photography.

"Some of the photos feel like great wet season shots, others you'd year-round," he said.

"It's great to have such a strong field to choose from."

Winner of Most Popular Photo will be announced on April 10 at 5pm.

First prize will be published in the next edition of Port Douglas magazine. The winner also receives $25 worth of photo products and printing services, a $20 iTunes gift card, courtesy of Coles and a framed Best Photo certificate.

Second prize receives a Sailaway Sunset Sail for two people, valued at $100, with third place winning a family pass to the Herberton Spy and Camera Museum, valued at $40.
