Courtyard Music has Clink rockin’

Courtyard Music sessions at Port Douglas’ Clink Theatre is proving to be a local success with regular numbers turning out to the outdoor amphitheatre venue.

Last Sunday saw a special local double act with Omid Master debuting his new single I Won’t Burn For You, and singer/songwriter Frank Frikker launching his new CD Road Closed, ably supported by six musicians.

The event drew the second biggest crowd of the year with around 60 people attending.

John Burden was at The Clink for Frank Frikker's CD launch and said the CD had a great sound.

“I know his work well and I've played and sung with him many times,” he said. “So it's really a pleasure to say he's getting better all the time. The songs are excellent, sometimes quirky and wistful; other times wry but always in good spirit."

Local complimentary therapies practitioner, Deanne Kalda, said she also appreciated Frank’s music.

“I love Frank's songs, both the old and new ones,” said Deanne Kalda.  “The lyrics and the music are lovely, many of which bring living in the tropics to life and the atmosphere at The Clink is great for listening to music - the many musicians and singers who joined Frank on stage complemented him beautifully!”

Omid, whose new single has recently been featured on The Newsport, is also an act at the upcoming Sunset in the Park Concert, on October 12.
