Carey: No corflute signs

Candidate for the upcoming Douglas Shire Council elections, David Carey, says he won’t be "littering the roadsides with election signage" during his campaign.

Mr Carey said he's come up with a " more innovative and considerate approach", using his van as a mobile campaign advertisement.

"This is the only advertising signage I’ll be using in the lead up to the election," Mr Carey said.

He said with at least 20 potential candidates in the race, he considers "it is both impractical and a potential blight on the landscape to use the traditional corflute signage."

"Over the coming weeks I will be travelling extensively throughout the Shire, talking to voters," he said, adding he will welcome questions and comments from Shire residents.

Mr Carey’s vehicle signs include a QR code, which link to his campaign website at www.davidcarey.com.au.
