The Skytrans Cairns Taipans today welcomed a familiar local face, Nick Brind to its front office into the position of Sales Manager.

Nick, who previously worked at Cairns Hardware and Mossman Hardware, brings more than 10 years’ corporate experience in the building industry to the club.

Taipans CEO, Mark Beecroft, said Nick’s appointment was a key move for the club as it seeks to strengthen and grow its corporate support in Cairns and across the region.

“We have a saying in basket ball that ‘the winning is in the picking’, and while Nick won’t set foot on the hardwood for us, we think he’ll help us strengthen our team behind the scenes too,” he said.

Having garnered a nomination for the Australian Institute of Management’s 2013 business manager of the year award during his time at Cairns Hardware, Nick will be focusing on corporate sponsorship sales and servicing with the Taipans.

“Nick brings to the Taipans team a strong strategic sales background and a keen focus on corporate engagement and business development,” Beecroft said.

“His experience in product development and servicing corporate customers will prove a major asset for the club and we look forward to working with him as the club continues to grow.”
