Papillon Landscapes Pty Ltd started back in 1999 and quickly established a solid and respected landscaping business in the Douglas region. 

Pete Murphy joined the team, working alongside its founder, Colin Cameron in 2008 and as the business evolved, with his wife Kim, Pete bought into the business in 2010.  Pete and Kim then purchased the remaining shareholding and became 100 per cent owners in May 2013.

Pete is a BSA Licensed tradesman in Carpentry and Structural Landscaping and holds certificates in Horticulture. He is also Landscape Queensland Certified in Horticulture and Structural Landscape.

Papillon holds all other landscape related qualifications including Ground Distribution Contractor and they are a Landscape Queensland Accredited Contractor.
Kim has a Bachelor of Accountancy and runs the administration and development side of the business.

Both Pete and Kim have been settled in the Douglas Shire for more than 15 years and have laid down solid family roots being proud parents of two beautiful children, Willow and Emily.

Pete has a huge passion for plants and horticulture and is an amazing people person. In fact Kim says his nickname is ‘Positive Pete’.

"We have worked for so many different employers, both commercial and residential, and we've always aimed to create and provide a happy work environment for both our employees and our clients," they say.

Pete and Kim bought the business to consolidate their family commitment.
"Buying the business from Colin was a fantastic opportunity to own and run a successful business that we had helped build and situated in a beautiful area that we have grown to love being part of," Pete said.

Kim adds her support when she says, "We wanted to get a solid base for us to build on and grow; to keep us in the area and raise our kids.  And be part of something special."

Their aims and ambitions are to continue to provide a quality service from the Cairns northern beaches through Port Douglas, Mossman and up to the Daintree in the areas of professional horticultural landscape maintenance, and construction.

Papillon Landscapes offers a wide range of products and services including landscape maintenance, long term maintenance contracts, construction including decking, fencing, pergolas and gazebos, concreting, paving, lawn care, pest and weed management. Within the Papillon organisation, there is extensive knowledge of plant species from fully qualified staff.

"We are a family friendly, family run business,” Kim said. “We have lived and breathed this environment for the last 15 years and we believe in giving back to the Douglas community in any way we can - through supporting local businesses and events, employing and training local staff, to keeping the gardens beautiful.”
