Exemplar makes TNQ Award finals
Exemplar Coaches and Limousines has been announced as a finalist in Category 12 Tour and Transport Operators in the 2013 TNQ Tourism Awards.
It was the first time the transport business had entered and co-owner Cheryl Wellham said the company was thrilled to have been selected as a finalist.
“The TNQ Awards are renowned for their exacting rigour,” Mrs Wellham said. “We were warned, but decided it was time to enter, as we felt the benefits of the entering process alone were invaluable. As an entrant it forced us to re examine all aspects of our business functions. Many of the systems the judges needed to look at are already operating and have been for some years.
“We saw this venture as a great way to force us to take the microscope to every business aspect to ensure it has a solid support of systems and processes. These are essential for the viability of the company and security to our employees, our clients and to us - the owners.
“By getting to this level we can say that we are among the best in the region. Something we are very proud of and have worked hard to achieve over the years. There can only be good things that come from this and we look forward to sharing those with our employees, customers and the Port Douglas region.
“We would like to publicly acknowledge our team for all their hard work with their attention to detail and customer service over the years. We cannot speak too highly of their efforts, and Exemplar would not be in this position if it had not been for their support and dedication to our visitors’ experience.”
Cheryl had one last word of encouragement to any one thinking of entering next year.
“Don’t be put off,” she said. “It does mean a bit of extra work, but if you are serious about your business’ success you should give it a go, you may be surprised and your business will thank you for it.”
The winners will be announced at the TNQ Tourism Awards Gala Evening to be held in Cairns on November 29.
