Sheraton’s Lagoons restaurant wins dining award
Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas’ Lagoons restaurant can boast back-to-back wins at the QHA Awards for Excellence, winning best casual dining in the accommodation division for the second year running.
This year’s winners were announced at a gala dinner and presentation evening at the Royal International Convention Centre in Brisbane on October 9, with SMPD Director of Sales and Marketing, Elena Fragasso, accepting the award.
Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas general manager, Lachlan Walker, said winning the award for the second consecutive year reinforced the resort’s ongoing pledge in providing fresh and delicious local produce, with flawless delivery through the hard work and dedication of each and every one of its associates.
“Guests can take comfort in the friendly and welcoming ambiance in their dining experience at Lagoons restaurant,” Mr Walker said.
“Our commitment in providing a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere overlooking the crystal lagoons while enjoying a fresh and delicious meal is one of our key differentiators.
“This award is testament to our commitment to customer enjoyment and the professionalism of our associates. It’s a real culinary team effort.”
The QHA Awards for Excellence Program is designed to provide a forum for the public recognition of excellence in individual and group achievement by Queensland hotels.
In doing so, the program encourages higher standards of service, presentation and trade practices within the industry.
