Sheraton v Tavern to battle T20 final

The final of the Muddies Big Bash T20 competition will be a battle of the two league leaders this Friday night at the Port Douglas Sports Complex.

After being washed out last Friday, the final between the IGA Tavern Bandits and the Sheraton Five Stars final was postponed to this Friday at 7pm.

The brand new lights have been a welcomed addition to the Port Douglas Mud Crabs Cricket Club this season, allowing the club to host the town’s first T20 competition on Friday nights.

The Bandits and the Five Stars were easily the strongest two teams in this year’s inaugural comp - particularly IGA who are red hot favourites to take the title.

The Sheraton side will be looking for captain Daniel Redfern and all-rounder Jordan Butterss to have a big impact, while players to watch for IGA are Kane Freyling and the three big-hitting Barts.

Runs will be the key to a win and the team that can hit boundaries consistently will be hard to beat.

It will be a great night of entertainment at the Mud Pit, with a juniors game against a mixed Muddies under 12, 14 and 16 team will be the pre-game entertainment from 4pm.
