REVIEW: KORA Organics Pamper Night, Nov 11

The Sugar Wharf provided the ideal atmosphere for an evening of pampering on November 11, as about 40 women experienced supermodel Miranda Kerr's organic skin care range, Kora Organics.

Kerr’s aunt, Jane, played host for the evening, with champagne and canapés on hand to compliment the product range. The business, owned and operated by the Kerr family, is more than just a pretty face on a brand name. Underpinned by the message 'whatever goes on our skin also enters our body', Miranda Kerr has used her nutrition and wellness background to create a product line boasting high-grade, organic natural ingredients.

The cleansers, toners, moisturisers, facial masks and moisturisers do feel luxurious on; ingredients include aloe vera, rose hip oil, clay, preservatives derived from beetroot and pepper - and they smell delicious!

We all gave ourselves a “Do-It-Yourself Facial”, and then shared a laugh as our clay face masks dried and cleansed - we looked like Halloween latecomers and extras from Michael Jackson's Thriller video!

The rose quartz facial massages were to die for (yep, I did, and I think I went to heaven!), and I'm sure all  guests came away feeling 10 years younger.

With my background in product development, I am well-placed to know a good product when I see one. The Kora packaging is beautifully designed and produced; a product obviously developed with passion and love.

I feel confident Miranda Kerr could launch a product line that would be highly lucrative in any department store, regardless of the ingredients used. Instead, it was Miranda’s aunt who travelled to Port Douglas, to spread the world to 40 local women. Her enthusiasm for the range and its development was truly infectious.

Miranda’s book, Treasure Yourself, was also available for purchase during the evening. Themed around motivation and inspiration, Miranda compares women to different flowers; it's the variety that makes a beautiful garden.

Thanks to Brett at Port Douglas Natural Therapies Centre and Spa for organising the event.
