The Newsport can report two kayaks, one orange and the other black, were brought to the Port Douglas Police Station at approximately 5:30pm yesterday by the Coast Guard.

The kayaks were located close together at Batt Reef off Low Isles, roughly 24km off Port Douglas, after apparently drifting just over 64km from Fitzroy Island.

The news comes as Queensland Police are continuing to search in rough conditions for a 29-year-old Japanese national man who went missing while surf-skiing with a female friend off Fitzroy Island on Friday afternoon. The woman made it back to shore.
