Douglas Heat basketballers received a special treat last week when the NBL's Rookie of the Year, Cam Gliddon, ran a coaching clinic at the new Port Douglas stadium.

Gliddon, who was a star for the Cairns Taipans this year and is fancied to receive a position in the national squad, was accompanied by WNBL Coach of the Year and CEO of Cairns Basketball, David Herbert, and Cairns Lady Dolphins' Myra Donkin.

The Heat squad were put through their paces in an hour long session that will assist in their skill development as the young club progresses.
