Lake Tinaroo will be a popular location for families this Easter and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) rangers are expecting the six Danbulla State Forest camp grounds to be holiday hotspots.

QPWS Senior Ranger Michael Overland said rangers would be patrolling all six camp grounds over the Easter period to ensure a safe and enjoyable camping experience for park visitors.

“It’s an Easter tradition for many north Queensland families to camp at Tinaroo and enjoy the outdoors, with some families coming here for decades,” Mr Overland said.

But Mr Overland warned those planning a camping holiday at Tinaroo to book as soon as possible, or miss the boat altogether.

“Easter camping bookings are already quite high, as you’d expect. Permits are not available onsite, so get in early to secure your spot. There are fines for people camping without a permit."

Dogs are not permitted in the camp grounds and low-noise generators can be used in Downfall and Fong On Bay camp grounds, between 8am and 7pm daily. Generators aren’t permitted at the other campgrounds.
