Kempton to speak at Chamber meeting
Member for Cook, David Kempton, will be guest speaker at Port Douglas Chamber of Commerce’s general meeting on Tuesday evening at the Central Hotel.
Mr Kempton will speak on the upcoming de-amalgamation process between Cairns Regional Council and Douglas Shire Council and will take questions from members.
The meeting will address strategies to manage the business database of the Chamber and to prepare for the creation of the new Douglas Shire Council.
Following the recent amalgamation of Mossman and Port Douglas Chambers of Commerce, the agenda for the meeting will also include motions proposing the expansion of the functions and role of the Chamber into a Douglas region area of operation, thereby changing the name to Douglas Chamber of Commerce Inc.
The meeting is open to members, prospective members and everyone in the business community from Mossman, Daintree and Cape Tribulation. However, only paid members will be entitled to vote on the motions.
If you’re a business, individual or community group that is not a member of the Chamber of Commerce, but would like to be, you can download an application form HERE
Tuesday’s meeting at the Central Hotel will start at 5.30pm in the Garden Bar. Please RSVP your attendance to secretary@portdouglaschamber.com.au
