An image reflecting a part of life in the topics has taken out the top award in the Best Photo Competition for December.

Amee Holder's 'Jellyfish in the Daintree River' was unanimously chosen as the top pic by The Newsport's expert panel of judges including Perrin Clarke from Imagebank Australia, Ben and Cath from Sass Studios, and Ali George from Catseye Productions.

Amee's photo also proved popular with the voting public which secured her the win for the Most Popular Photo for December. Amee will receive a $20 shopping card from Coles Supermarket Port Douglas.

For her efforts Amee has won a 30cm x 46cm acrylic print valued at $130 PLUS $50 cash thanks to Perrin at Imagebank Australia.

Thanks to Glenda Gordon's motorbike riding dare-devil grandson, Glenda has taken out the runner-up prize of a $50 meal voucher at magnificent Seabean Cafe Restaurant. No prizes for guessing who Glenda should take with her to enjoy the experience.

The bronze has been awarded to Gary Caroll's 'Before and after'. Congratulations Gary, you've won an Italian recipe book and MasterChef apron thanks again to Coles Supermarket Port Douglas.

Last but certainly not least, we announce the winner of the Editor's Choice award sponsored by the generous crew at Sailaway.

Shay Bourne's 'Bluejuice at Kuranda' is not only a great shot, it helps highlight yet another reason this region is a brilliant place to visit and live. The diversity of winning photos in December reflects the diversity of fun, exciting, and innteresting things to see and do in Far North Queensland.
