Pythons storm into final

Port Auto Car Wash Pythons booked themselves a place in the final of the Cairns Futsal Under 10 competition on Tuesday night after winning their semi-final 8-4 against the fourth place Automatic Skill.

After being crowned Minor Premiers two weeks ago, the Pythons had to battle hard for their win. The first half swung backwards and forwards with both teams about even in the first ten minutes.

But the Pythons went into half time 4-1 up with Jack Jenkins scoring two, Charlie Dowling one and Jack Carr one. The second half went the same way with Connor white and Jake Read both working hard for the team.

In the end though, one more goal from Jack Jenkins and three more from Jack Carr was enough to see the boys through to the final next Tuesday night at 4.45pm, Redlynch Sports Stadium.

The Man of the Match went to Jack Carr.

Jack Carr and Jack Jenkins have been selected to play for Northern Australia Futsal team in the State Futsal Titles to be held in Brisbane over Easter. Both were selected at the end of last year for National titles and Jack Jenkins got selected to play for Australia in America later on this year.

The club are desperately trying to think of ways to raise money for their trips as, hopefully, this will be the first of many.
