Group grows support for Mossman garden

A group of dedicated volunteers are continuing to work towards the creation of a botanic gardens in Mossman.

Representatives of Mossman Botanic Garden Group have met with State Member for Cook David Kempton, and will announce its plans at a public event in late February or early March.

The six member committee believe the creation of the Garden will have social, environmental, and economic benefits for the region, and could potentially provide educational and research facilities to attract pharmaceutical companies, and alternative crop and tropical food producers.

The Garden would be home to around 3000 species of plants.
