Coulthard wins award on the QT

Aspiring cricket star David Coulthard has been awarded with a new sponsorship arrangement in recognition of his achievements, which culminated in his selection in a national Under 16s squad that toured Dubai in 2012.

Rydges Hotels and Resorts in Cairns and QT Port Douglas announced a new sporting sponsorship agreement with Peninsula School Sport that kicked off last Friday with an award presentation recognising last year’s Future State Greats and Dave Andrews Memorial Trophy winners.

Peninsula School Sport’s Future State Greats and Dave Andrews Memorial Trophy are annual awards that recognise the best primary and secondary sporting achievers who have represented regional, state or country in Peninsula, Queensland or School Sport Australia events.

The event, where Montanna McAvoy from Goondi State School was congratulated as the winner of the primary award, saw David take out the secondary award and receive $1000 in prize money in the process.

The pair will be flown to Brisbane on 27 February for the state awards presentation for Future State Greats.
