Out Now - Port Douglas Magazine Issue 12

The latest edition of Port Douglas Magazine has hit magazine stands around the nation, with praise being received for the locally-produced publication.

As well as now being found in nine airports around the nation, the latest including Melbourne and Sydney domestic terminals, Port Douglas Magazine can now be called a truly national publication, being found in 940 outlets in every state and territory of Australia.

“Port Douglas Magazine is really breaking into the national marketplace in a big way,” Editor Kerry Larsen said.

“This national distribution is huge for the Douglas region and all of our advertisers, as for the first time, they, and the Douglas region, are being promoted on a national stage in a classy publication we can all be proud of.

"Also it means our visitors can research their holiday well before they get here by purchasing a copy of Port Douglas Magazine at their local newsagent."

The magazine's first ever photo shoot at Niramaya Villas and Spa in Port Douglas was another first for parent company, Newsport Publishing and Media.

“Our first fashion shoot was a real buzz for everyone involved and the results are stunning," Ms Larsen said. "And as always there are some great articles on our locals."

The magazine has also gained the praise of Queensland's media judges with a finalist placing at the Queensland Multi Media Awards in November.

“This acknowledgement is a credit to all of our contributors and gives us a measuring stick to keep aspiring to," she said.

Port Douglas Magazine is sold at Coles supermarkets, newsagents and airports around the nationn.

Locally, it is found in resort hotel rooms and lobbies, cafes, restaurants and waiting rooms, and is available to all local accommodation operators.  They can collect free copies from the Newsport Offices to circulate to their guests or place in their rooms.
