The Skytrans Cairns Taipans posted their ninth consecutive win over Townsville at home on Friday, December 13, with the final score 87-74.
The 13-point win was Cairns' second in a row after seven straight losses. Snakes favourites Cam Tragardh (scoring a season-best 24 points) and Cam Gliddon (15 points) stepped up for the home side.
The Snakes were confident going into Sunday's away clash with second-placed Adelaide 36ers, though the hosts posted an impressive 91-67 win.
The loss leaves the Taipans second-to-last on the NBL ladder, ahead of their New Year's Eve battle against the Perth Wildcats at the Cairns Convention Centre.
