Queenslander! - 8 IN A ROW number plates will be on some Queensland cars by the end of the month, with almost 1000 residents and State of Origin fans voting it the favourite commemorative number plate slogan.

More than 50 per cent of the competition's voters selected Queenslander!—8 IN A ROW, celebrating the State’s record-breaking eighth State of Origin series win.

The first run of number plates will be available from Monday, August 19 at Transport and Main Roads Customer Service Centres, and interest in purchasing the plates can be expressed on the TMR website from Monday.

Motorists who have bought a new car or anyone wishing to replace their existing plates will have the option to choose the new plate. Motorists who are replacing their existing plates will be issued with a new rego number, while the cost to purchase one of these plates for use on a vehicle will be $40.45 – which includes the standard $25 transfer fee.

“This is cheaper than the cost of a standard NSW issued plate – so Queenslanders win again,” said Transport and Main Roads Minister Scott Emerson.

Domin8—Go Queenslander attracted about 15 per cent of the vote while Queensland—the Gr8 State grabbed 30 per cent.
