Danny Ross announces second 'Thank You' concert

The Voice star Danny Ross has announced he'll play a second 'Thank You' show on Monday, August 12, after his Sunday concert quickly sold out earlier this week.

Douglas Shire's own, Ross made the top four of the Nine Network singing competition earlier this year and will play both concerts at Port Douglas' The Clink. Fellow Voice contestant Hannah Darling is the support act.

Douglas Theatre Arts Group Administrator Claire Tierney said there's been a lot of interest and excitement about the show, as it's the last chance for fans to see Ross before he heads to Los Angeles.

Ross is set to write and record with Universal Music, the largest American music group and and subsidiary of Paris-based media giant Vivend. Universal artists include 50 Cent, ABBA, Aerosmith, Blink182 and Eminem, fellow Aussie superstar Jessica Mauboy, and Jack Johnson, supporter of Douglas-based non-profit Tangaroa Blue

Ross' debut album, As The Crow Flies, reached #26 on the ARIA Australian Top 50 Albums, and is still in the Top 50 at #40. "Ross has perhaps been underestimated since leaving the show because his rock capabilities are finely on show here," Sams wrote.
