Three local lads from Douglas United Football Club have made a big impact in their futsal representative duties over the Easter period.

The trio, Bailey Morrison, Jack Carr, and Jack Jenkins, who were crowned Champions for 2013 playing futsal for Port Auto Car Wash Pythons, were selected to represent Northern Queensland in the regional titles in Brisbane.

The team won four out of six very tough games in the league to make their way into the semi-final and win a nail-biting game 6-5 to go into final where luck, unfortunately, wasn’t on their side.

A couple of disallowed goals and a few goalkeeping errors saw the team go down 4-1, but the lads had done well in the face of such fierce competition.

The boys will now aim for national selection and a spot on the touring team to the USA later in the year.
