Secret garden to be revealed

The future of the Mossman Botanic Garden will be revealed as the committee unveil their plan to invited guests at the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas tonight.

A tight-lipped Tony Woodall said the six committee members, who have been working on the project for two years, are about to take the next step into making the concept a reality.

Mr Woodall said the response from the community has been "99.9 per cent positive" and "all questions will be answered" at tonights meeting.

"We're on track. We've been very thorough," Mr Woodall said. "We have given the information we've put together to a wide range of experts, anything from bank managers to accountants to solicitors to marketing people. The whole range of things you'd be looking at if you're doing a due diligence."

Mr Woodall said the area of land behind the Mossman Secondhand Shop is just one of the locations the committee is considering locating the gardens.

"It's a very, very good concept, totally based on community and not-for-profit, and none of us are in it for the dollars."
