Mossman Golf Club players have experienced some variable weather conditions during the couple of weeks.  

Last Tuesday’s Monthly Medal, sponsored by Century 21, was won by Ian Johnson.  Division I Gross winner Brett Jurie with nett 70 ahead of Ralf Middel 71 and Simon Nelson 73.  

Division II winner was Ian Johnson with nett 67 ahead of George Page 72 and John Carney 73. Nearest the pins were Brian (Boof) MacDonald on 6, Laurie Prosser on 8, Brett Jurie on 10, Ralf on 13 and Kym Copland on 17.

Wednesday’s 9 hole Sporters was won by Wayne Revell with 21 points ahead of Casey Dunne with 20 points. Nearest the pins were Jack Boyd on 6 and Barry Costain on 8.

Thursday before Easter, the Ladies stableford winner was Ellen Clark with 29 points ahead of Julie Hooker with 27. Nearest the pins were Kerri-Lynn Williams on 8 and Bette Wells on 17.

The Lucy Giles Monthly Medal was won by Julie Hooker with nett 71 ahead of Narelle Johnson 72 and Glenda Christensen 74.  Judy McCormack took out the putting competition. Nearest the pins were Glenda on 6 and 8, Lyn Heimann on 10, Bev Cowe on 13 and Gayle Healey on 17.

Easter Saturday provided sunny conditions for Matty Coulthard to win with 43 points ahead of Ben Gaske 41 and Mick Lancaster 40. Nearest the pins were John Deuble, Brett Jurie, Mick Lancaster and Dan Hober.

The Barrier Reef Tavern sponsored the April Monthly Medal which was won by Wayne Baxter with nett 70 ahead of Brendon Wood with 71.

Gross winners – A Grade Peter Chrisfield 75, B Grade Mick Lancaster 86, C Grade Rick Weimar 93.  Nett winners – A Grade Peter Hornsby 78, Antony Croser 72, C Grade David Budge 73.
Nearest the pins – John Petherbridge on 6 & 17, John Zeigler on 8, Mick Lancaster on 10 and Brendon Wood on 13.

The Ladies Easter Saturday winner was Yvonne Bochow with 32 points. Nearest the pins were Trish Landy on 8 and Shona Barbour on 17.

The Ladies April Monthly Medal, sponsored by The Tin Shed, was won by Pris Freeman with nett 68 ahead of Carly Jack 71 and Bev Cowe 75.  Carly won the putting competition and the nearest the pin on 13 with Bev taking out nearest the pins on 8 and 10.

Easter Sunday saw Cathy Campbell win with 32 points ahead of Art Howard 31. Nearest the pins were Samantha Smith on 8 and Julie Hooker on 17.

The public holiday Easter Monday saw a great field with the winner John Cameron with 38 points ahead of Mal McKellar with 37 and Art Howard 34. Nearest the pins were John Cameron on 8, Samantha Smith on 10 and Charlie Kadic on 17.

Sunday’s Stableford on 7 April saw Mal Phillips victorious ahead of Norm Lockwood.
