Young Guns smoked
It was a tragic end to the Young Guns' undefeated streak, seeing the Central Cougar’s reclaim their well-deserved title as Division 1 Premiers.
In a thrilling match which saw the final score line at 28-27, the Cougars took the lead from the first quarter.
Young Guns, determined to not give up their streak, reclaimed the lead through the second quarter, but Cougar’s defensive line brought the ball down to their attacking end, equalling the score entering the last quarter.
It was a gruelling game for spectators who watched the ball being taken back and forth, and the two teams continued the see-sawing battle with the Central Cougars picking up each loose ball and utilising their opportunities.
This saw the Central Cougar’s claim a narrow victory over the Young Guns.
The Best and Fairest player of the final was awarded to Cougars' Kelly King for her defensive work. Congratulations to the Young Guns for making the Grand Final, and to the Central Cougars on becoming back-to-back Premiers.
The Division 2 Grand Final was played by Jets and Ring Ins, and saw the Jets with a comfortable win of 24-14.
Throughout the first two quarters the score was fairly level, with Jets pushing through in the last quarter, tripling the Ring Ins score for that quarter.
Not only did the Jets' attacking players push the ball into the circle, but the defensive players ensured the ball was kept well away from the Ring Ings attacking end, proving their victory was a true team effort with each section of the court working together to bring the ball down.
Congratulations to Ring Ins for their efforts this season and for making it to the Grand Final. Well done Jets on your hard earned victory as the 2012 Division 2 Premiers.
Big congratulations to the Division 3 winners, Reptos, on their victory over Wolverines with a dominating 38-11 win.

From the first whistle of the first quarter the Reptos took a comfortable lead of 9-2. The Reptos' defensive players worked hard, pushing themselves, and kept the ball out of the Wolverines' attacking end.
Reptos, bringing the ball down slowly, used each safe option and with the shooters finishing each goal off, earned the victory.
The best and fairest player of the Final was awarded to Jess Eagle Rowe, defensive player for Reptos. Well done Jess. Well done to Wolverines on a successful season as the 2012 runners up and to Reptos, the 2012 Division 3 Premiers.
Well done to all senior teams for their success in making the Grand Finals. Special congratulations to the Central Cougars, Jets and Reptos as the 2012 Premiers in their respected divisions.
The presentation evening will take place this Friday at the Douglas Netball Association. Once again congratulations to all teams on a successful, enjoyable season.
