Tennis ace Pat Rafter is continuing his Tropical North Queensland experience with his family, but has returned to the court for a 'friendly' with some local tourism chiefs.

Pat partnered with Mantra Group CEO, Bob East against Tony Baker, Managing Director for Quicksilver and Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) representative Dale Flack at Peppers Beach Club & Spa in Palm Cove. 

Normally it is a cohesive relationship between the accommodation group, local operators and the tourism body exists, but this hit up saw the groups match up from opposite sides of the court.

Mr East said the match (which resulted in a set each) ultimately showed off the team work that exists between the various tourism organisations.
 
“Having Pat in the region is a great way to showcase what is on offer to our guests,” he said.
 
“We need these great activities to draw tourism to the region and likewise, people need places to stay that will allow them to access what is on offer.”
