Mossman Golf Club has had a week of glorious weather, and 42 players competed in a Stableford event on Tuesday 28 August.  

The event was won by Don Demler with 43 points on a count-back to Richard Hunter.  Third place was taken out by Rob Young with 41 points on a count-back to Brendon Wood.

Nearest the pins were Bruce Cheesman on 6, Charlie McSween on 8, Peter Lewis on 10, Laurie Prosser on 13 and John Cameron on 17.

The winner of Wednesday’s nine hole event was Bob Hoskin with 24 points and second place was Barry Costain with 22 points on a count-back to Rudi Van Hardeveld and Dot Jurie. Nearest the pin was Brett Jurie on 13.

Thursday’s Ladies stableford event was won by Helen Gabour with 42 points, second place Christie Bouwkamp with 37 points ahead of Gayle Healey with 36 points.

Nearest the pins were Gayle on 6, Fran Coveny on 8 (great shot to 41cm), Lucy Giles on 10 and Shona Barbour on 13.

The Friday Frolic was won by Ray Bennets with 21 points on a count-back to Bob Hoskin and Rudi Van Hardeveld.

Saturday’s Demi View Motel Monthly Medal was won by Richard Hunter with nett 65. Runner-up was Russell Hooker with nett 67 on a count-back to Don Demler.

• Nett winners – A Grade Ralf Middel 69, B Grade Russell Jeffrey 73, C Grade Antony Crosier 68.
• Nearest the pins – Sy Dolphin on 6, Leon on 8, Keith Gard on 10, Kerry Johnstone on 13 and Lloyd Redpath on 17.

The Ladies Combined Clubs Monthly Medal was won by Katie Brims with a nett 71, second place went to Christie Bouwkamp with 73 on a count-back to Bev Cowe.

Nearest the pins were Pris Freeman on 10, Patti Graham on 13 and Lyn Heimann on 17.

The Sunday stableford event was won by Art Howard with 40 points ahead of John Cameron with 37 points.  Nearest the pin on 13 was Ken Deuble.
