Aristocat's 31 metre snorkel and dive boat has been sold for an undisclosed amount, owner John Joyce confirmed on Friday.

Aristocat will head "south of Cairns" to its new home according to Mr Joyce, indicating it will no longer operate in the local reef tour market.

"It's with some regret because it's such a lovely vessel," Mr Joyce said.

Mr Joyce told The Newsport he was looking to upgrade to a newer vessel but had not yet committed to a purchase.
