On Friday night the Under 12 Rugby Union team travelled to Cairns to take on the Highlanders in their second game of the 2012 season.

The Highlanders were well down on numbers so both teams had to shuffle players around to make two even teams. Both teams started well but it was the Highlanders who landed the first blow with some hard running up the middle.

The young Raiders had some injuries which made for some more positional changes, but the Highlanders took advantage and went over for another 5 pointer.

Man of the match Cole Watson was the quiet achiever of the night with some great runs and defensive plays, also Josh Mealing had a great game with hard round the legs tackling.

The final score was 17 nil to the Highlanders but the Raiders can hold their heads high and are keen to get back on track this Friday night with our first game at home..
