There were some close games in social bowls on Saturday. R Edwards and Kiwi had a draw with G Marsh and C Maxted 17 all, J Prammer and S Jellis defeated B Barabas and P Gorsuch 19-18 and the winners of the day were T Pisot and N Tesch who defeated E Smith and Doug Pitt 29-21.
All members should note that nominations for positions on the men’s committee are now open and will close on 11 November. All positions are open for nomination. The AGM date is set for Sunday 25 November at 9.30am in the club’s function room.
In other upcoming events, the team for the Bill Morris Shield will be picked to play in Atherton on 10 and 11 November.
From 1 November to 6 December Thursday nights will host Lawn Bowls Team Challenge starting at 6pm to 8.30pm.
Teams of three or four players are invited with only one experienced bowler required per team. Alternatively just come along and be put into a team. This will be a great opportunity to make up a team with workmates or friends.
If you’ve never bowled before or are just after an evening of friendly competition jump off the couch and come along. To register refer to the club notice board or contact the club on 4098 1434. Alternatively, ring the co-ordinator Bernie Wolland.
Bernie Wolland is also co-ordinating junior bowls and would appreciate the assistance of other bowling members on Mondays at 3.15pm at the club, and on Tuesdays at 3.15 at St Augustine’s School.
Those interested in helping out can contact Bernie direct on 0448 060 477.
