Pythons strangle Futsal foes

A local futsal team has got off to a great start in their first two matches.
A local futsal team has got off to a great start in their first two matches.

Seven local kids, six of whom recently represented Cairns in two soccer carnivals, formed a team to join the Cairns Indoor Futsal Competition

The team named themselves the Port Pythons, and having never played this particular type of soccer before smashed their opponents 17-2 last week.

Bailey Morrison, Connor White, Jake Read, Jack Carr, Jack Jenkins, Charlie Dowling and a very talented Under 9 Jemma Morrison formed the Under 10 team, with the Man of the Match being Jake Read.

This week they had stiffer competition in the Big Cats but they still managed to hold them off with a satisfactory win 8-3, ensuring that they will be on top of the league table.

Man of the Match for this week was Jack Carr.
