Perfect start for U16 Muddies

The Under 16 Douglas Muddies started off with a win in their first game of the season at the Port Douglas Sport Complex playing a one-dayer against Norths last Saturday.

Captain Kaiden Sorensen lost the toss and the opposition chose to bat. Playing his first U16 match with his new team, Keel Sorensen opened the attack with some great spin bowling.

Muddies' first four bowlers restricted the opposition score to only 8 after seven overs.

Nathan Evans was the first to breakthrough with only his fourth ball and had the opposition 1-12 before Michael Schulz followed suit by claiming two wickets with catches to wicketkeeper Ethan McCullough and Hayden D’Addona.

Bowling figures for the Muddies were Tom Goodall 1/1 off 4 overs, Kaiden Sorensen 1-4 off 4, Michael 2-10 off 4, Nathan 1-3 off 2, Keel Sorensen 0-5 off 3 overs, Hayden 0-10 off 4, Adon Trewick 0-5 off 3, Sean Evans 0-4 off 2, Ashley Davison 0-5 off 2, and Ben Shrimpton 0-5 off 4.
