Landscapes dominate Best Photos

Drum roll please...it's time to announce the winners of The Newsport's Best Photo Competition for September.

It's incredible that a simple building can create so much interest, but the Sugar Wharf in Port Douglas continues to do just that. Local photographer Louise Coghill has been rewarded for her mastery which show the Sugar Wharf in a different light.

Louise' 'Sugar Wharf Sunset' (pictured) was voted by our expert panel of judges to be the most impressive pic for September. Congratulations Louise, you've earned yourself a $100 Garricks Camera House voucher and $50 cold, hard cash.

Susanne Stannard's love affair with Cape York continues, and her well-time 'Sunburst' means Susanne will see this, or another image of her choice, proudly mounted on a stretched canvas thanks to Port's very own Imagebank Australia.

To round off a landscape trifecta, Charlotte Hellings' 'Simplicity' was selected in third place capping off an amazing run of form for Charlotte. Her image has earned her an underwater camera thanks to Coles Supermarket Port Douglas.

Knocking off Charlotte in the public vote for Most Popular Photo was Agnes White's 'Eyes Wide Open.' While the subject may be a little young for a nice pasta, Agnes can still cook up a storm with an Italian Cookbook and MasterChef Apron thanks also to Coles Supermarket Port Douglas.

Check out all the winners' photos on the Best Photo Competition page.

As always we are very grateful to our sponsors who provide these valued prizes each month, and to our judges - Ben and Cath from Sass Studios, Perrin from Imagebank Australia, and Ali from Catseye Productions.

October entries are flooding in so get caught up by sending in your best pic to editor@thenewsport.com.au.
